After completing undergraduate studies in liberal arts, business, and apparel merchandising in 1989, Ms. Davenport was recruited by Indiana University's Business Placement Office for the Bloomingdale's Executive Training Squad in New York City. 

While in New York, Ms. Davenport was actively involved as a volunteer and fund raiser for such organizations as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, as well as the New York Philharmonic and the New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Changing career paths in 1992, Ms. Davenport returned to Bloomington and has since worked in marketing and management of educational publishing, as well as film exhibition. She is currently the house manager at Kerasotes' Showplace Eleven, Bloomington's premiere film venue.
